When I Moved Away

when I moved away

from all I knew

towards opportunities,

I packed my life

by life order, by function?

when I moved away

there were plenty of boxes

and a moving container

plus my car to fill

but they weren’t big enough

when I moved away —

one was missing

there was no box for my emotions,

tears for those I’d miss,

excitement for those I’d meet

when I moved away.
